JAPANESE ROAD TAX
2008 Annual Road Tax
14 - 18 April
Road tax is an annual fee collected from vehicle owners for the use of the roads in Japan. These fees go for the building and maintenance of roads and expressways in the Prefecture the tax was collected in. Every vehicle owner is required to pay this tax on each vehicle they own on an annual basis
When you show up on the day you are scheduled to pay your tax, five(5) forms are required:
1. The Japanese title for the vehicle
2. MAB Form 0-352 (This is the base registration)
3. A valid JCI Policy
4. Proof of liability insurance
5. 2003 Road Tax Receipt
NOTE: Item 1, 2, and 4 all must be in the registered owner's name. If you do not have any of these forms, contact Pass and Registration as soon as possible to ensure you will be able to pay the road tax. We ask you to have these forms ready to show, so we can better assist you during the payment of road tax. Failure to provide JCI or liability insurance make you subject to applicable penalties.
All road taxes must be paid in Yen in full on your scheduled day. Also, the Community Bank will have representatives present at the Mokuteki to provide monetary exchange services to assist in paying Road Tax.
NOTE: You may pay road taxes for someone other than yourself. Powers of Attorney are not necessary.
