Napoleon Fish (Meganemochinouo) Located about an hour and 15 minutes northwest of the base (depending of traffic), the Asamush Aquarium give you everything you would expect to find in an indoor facility of this kind. They feature hundred of species of fish, aquatic birds and mammals from every part of the earth; from the Arctic to the tropics. That includes the comical looking fellow

They have their own version of a petting zoo in what they call the "Touch and Discover Zone". Take a few minutes to touch and pick up the various sealife, including sea urchins and starfish.

Walk through the fish-filled tank. Actually it's a 15-meter long tunnel inside a huge fish tank. The sealife swims around you.

To get there:
Part I - Leave by the main gate and turn right at the second traffic light. Keep going straight past "30 Meter Road" and turn right at the next light (Green Pole Road)so you are actually heading back toward the base. Turn left at the first traffic light. Continue straight for about 18km. You will see a blue sign for the Michinoku Toll Road. Turn left and continue across a long bridge and past a Pachinko Parlor on the left. About 250 yards further you will see another blue toll road sign. Turn right there and go over another bridge. Follow this road and you will come to a small, unused railroad track. Just a bit further, you will see a traffic light at the intersection with Route 4.
From this point, you can take the Michinoku Toll Road (830Yen) or Rt 4 along the coast. The time to Asamushi is not much different.

Part IIA - Rt 4: Turn right on to Route 4 and follow this highway for about 30km until you see a small amusement park on the right. The aquarium is on the left behind a parking lot.

Part IIB - Toll Road: Continue straight across Rt 4 and continue straight onto the toll road. When the toll road ends, Rt 123 begins. After 10km, you will come to a "T" intersection. Turn left onto Rt 44 and continue straight until you reach a "Y" intersection. Bear right here and go another 4KM until you reach Rt 4. Turn right at the onto Rt 4 and continue for about 10km. The aquarium is on the right behind the parking lot.
