MISAWA AIR SHOW
This year's Air Show will be held on Sunday, 2 September. There will be numerous aerial demonstrations with the highlight being a performance by the Japan Air Self Defense Force’s "Blue Impulse" precision aerial demonstration team.
The event schedule listed below has not been confirmed and is subject to change. When I receive the firm schedule, I will update this page.
The main gate will be closed to vehicle traffic from 6am until the crowd is gone, probably around 4pm. The Levitow Gate will be open during this period. Food and game booths will line the parking aprons on the south side of the airfield and static displays of aircraft and equipment will be available. See the map
The base shuttle bus will run from 7am til 5pm. There will also be a special shuttle running between the main gate, the BX parking lot, the Club parking lot, the Torii building and Bldg 954.

Gate Status - 8:30AM - 4:15PM:
- Main Gate will be open for pedestrian traffic only.
- The POL Gate and Levitow Gate are open for pedestrians and regular vehicle traffic.
- Security Hill and Beach Gates are open for vehicles from the general public.
Traffic Flow: (tentative)
- Officials ask that people living in the main base housing area and dorms walk to and from the air festival. North area housing residents should consider using the base shuttle serice.
- Bikes, skateboards, roller blades and scooters are forbidden in the festival area.
- Smoking is restricted to designated areas.
- Once the Air Show ends at 3PM, base officials need everyone, including vendors to vacate the ramp quickly so the base can prepare for normal flying operations.
- Security personnel will be conducting random checks of bags and vehicles. Thank you for your cooperation.

- 9AM - Opening Ceremonies / Opening Flyby
- 9:15 - Weapons Reload demonstration
- 9:40 - JASDF F-15J Areial Demo
- 10:00 - JASDF HH-60 rescue demonstration.
- 10:15AM - JASDF F-4 / AAA demonstration
- 10:35AM - F-16 Demonstration
- 11:00AM - C-17
- 11:20AM - Air Rock aerial demonstration
- 12:00PM - JASDF Band/Taiko Drum Team
- 12:40PM - Snow plow parade
- 1:00PM - E-2 and P-3 Flyby
- 1:10PM - CH-47 helicopter demonstration
- 1:25PM - F-2 demonstration
- 1:45PM - Bluce Impulse aerial demonstration team
- 3PM - Air Show ends.
Shuttle Bus:
- The Air Show Shuttle Busses run from 7AM to 5PM. Routes go from North Area Shoppette to the Falcon Gate and from the main gate to Bldg 948. See the Bus Routes. I believe they run every 20 minutes but I have no firm info on that.
