COMMUNITY NOTES


The 35th Contracting Squadron holds a vendor fair on July 31 at 10am and 2pm in the Mokuteki confernece room. Jobs will be advertised for the hospital and the Airman and Family Readiness Center.

University of Maryland holds registration for the Fall sessions from 15 July thru 24 August in Bldg 653.

The Veteran’s Administration representative will be here from 13-15 August. Contact the Airman and Family Readiness Center at 226-4735 for an appointment.

NAIMES Student Sporlight Award scholarships. Details and forms at here. Suspense for applications is 29 Aug 08.

MEETINGS

The Top 3 meets the third Wednesday of each month at 3:30 in the Club Tohoku’s Gray Room.

Focus 5/6 meets the second Friday of the month at 11:30am in the Club Tohoku’s Faultline.

The First Four meet on the fourth Thursday of the month at 3:30pm in the Club Tohoku’s Faultline.

The Air Force Sgts Assn meets the last Wednesday of the month at 11:30 in the Club Tohoku’s Aomori Lounge.

Single or Unaccompanied NCO group meets on the first Saturday of each month in the Community Center.

The Extensive Gamers Organization host Gaming Day from 4pm until???? on the first Saturday of each month in the Community Center.

Misawa Toastmasters meet on the first and third Thursdays of the month in building 1000 at 5:30pm.

The Misawa Earth-based Religions group meets on Thursdays from 6-8pm in the Security Hill Chapel Annex.

LONG TERM INFO

The Lunney Youth Center offers a variety of classes for all ages. Call 226-3220 for more info.

The Walmsley Bowling Center hosts youth birthday parties. They supply the party favors, food, drinks, bowling, shoes and a coupon for each child to come back and bowl again. They set up and clean up. Call them at 222-7731 for details.

Services Squadron has a Job Line. Call 226-jobs and listen to a current listing of the positions available around the base. It's updated weekly.

You can call from off-base to on-base without using the operator. When calling from within the Misawa area (0176 area code) and you are calling a 222-XXXX number, just dial 63 then the last 4 digits. For 226 numbers, dial 64 and then the last 4 digits of the number. If calling from outside the Misawa area, dial the 0176 area code and then 63 or 64 and the last 4 digits of the number.

To access toll free phone numbers in the States from an official military Class A phone, dial 94 + 809--4OFF DSN. Wait for a secend dial tone then dial the toll free number (i.e. 1-800-XXX-XXXX).
